RAF Welcomes Back Special Guests

Weeks ago I invited the authors of Animorphs back to partake in some questions and answers on Richard's Animorphs Forum. After a few weeks of patiently waiting (yes I know Michael Grant - 1/2 of the duo - is deeply involved in the Gone Series) I finally got a short reply: set up the thread, and we'll see what we can do.

Of course, even though I was miles away from a computer I immediately set up the thread, and asked members to ask the questions they always wanted to ask about Animorphs, Remnants, Gone or Everworld. The only difference with last time is that instead of
bombarding the respondents with questions that may have been asked before, the staff will filter out the questions: posting only what hasn't been asked before.

A day or so later on January 29 2010, K. A. Applegate and husband Michael Grant created the account applegate/grant.

It didn't take long for someone who I never expected to be brought into the mix: their son: the very famous (to Animorphs fans at least) JakeMates.

So as it stands, the authors of Animorphs are on RAF answering questions, while their son is updating the Gone community on particulars.

Will Animorphs re-released? Yes!

Although it has already been speculated by Hirac Delest, popular Animorphs archive website; there seems to have been a confirmation on the issue of Animorphs being re-released.

Animorphs co-author, Michael Grant has tweeted saying that Animorphs will be re-released "in about a year".

UPDATE: Here's an update from Michael Grant. He says that the re-release of Animorphs will be edited with "elaborate new covers".

Animorphs 2.0? - RUMOR

Very interesting stuff:

Some new info on a rumor we posted a few months back, our source (who still wishes to remain unnamed) says that Scholastic seems to be on board with making an Animorphs 2.0 happen. They supposedly had a recent discussion on how to handle the continuity from 1.0, which is the series we left off at.

Please note that we, at Hirac Delest, don’t post every rumor (or any rumor, for that matter) that is given to us (and there are a LOT), unless we feel that the source is legitimate in some way. Saying that, we’re not posting this as an official announcement either, as no official news has been released by Scholastic to confirm this. More updates from our source on this matter will be posted on Hirac Delest as they come.

Of course none of this has been independently verified.

K. A Applegate Goes to Comic Con?

Any of your group going to Comic Con in San Diego this summer? There's a chance we'll be there.

- K. A. Applegate

It appears, according to correspondence with our admin Adam, the author of Animorphs, K.A. Applegate (and husband Michael Grant), might pay a visit to this year's Comic-Con.

If they decide to go, will you be there?

Katherine and Michael away for awhile...

Katherine Applegate and Michael Grant, are going to be away from the forum for an undetermined amount of time. This is because they are moving to Italy! I (TheEllimist/Adam) sent them an email about coming back to answer questions, and here is what they sent back.

Hi, Adam:

Sorry we didn't get back to you sooner. We are just neck-deep in work. We're selling our house, moving to Italy, writing and rewriting,(accepting awards in K's case) dealing with kids, selling cars . . . it's as busy as we have ever been.

So maybe down the road. But right now life is crazy.

M and K
So that is why they aren't here. The two topics have been locked and put away in RAF's Attic until they notify me or someone else that they are ready to make their return. But nothing is for sure. They said "maybe." But let's all hope for the best and pray/hope that their trip is safe and they settle very nicely in Italy.

"Keep Your Fingers Crossed" for Animorphs Movie

There is a reasonably serious move under way to do a big budget Animorphs movie. By that we mean that a producer has contacted us and let us know that he would be pitching the idea to the studios -- as soon as the WGA strike is over. The producers are serious guys. The studios they are going after are people who could actually pull it off. But right now it's still probably a 20 to 1 shot. Keep your fingers crossed. I'll say this: the producer is a serious Anifan.
